Design & Exterior Look
The Tata Harrier EV keeps the bold SUV look of the regular Harrier but adds a few futuristic touches. It has a closed front grille, stylish LED DRLs, new alloy wheels, and EV-specific blue accents that make it stand out as an electric car. The design is sharp, muscular, and appealing to both young and mature buyers.
The EV version also gets new connected tail lamps, which gives a premium and modern look from the back. The body lines and stance remain strong and tall, just like the diesel Harrier.

Inside the Harrier EV, Tata is expected to provide a premium cabin experience. From the test model, we saw a large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and touch-based climate control system. The use of leather, soft-touch materials, and good-quality plastics is evident.
You also get features like:
- Panoramic sunroof
- 360-degree camera
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Powered driver seat with memory
- Connected car tech
- Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
The cabin is spacious and comfortable for 5 adults with ample boot space.
Driving Experience (Real Road Test)
Pros (What We Liked)
- Smooth Acceleration:
The Harrier EV provides instant power delivery thanks to its electric motors. It picks up speed without any noise or gear shifts. - Refined & Silent Cabin:
Driving in the city feels relaxing. There is almost no engine noise, making your drive peaceful. - Drive Modes Work Well:
You can switch between Eco, City, and Sport modes. Eco is perfect for saving battery, while Sport mode gives a strong push when overtaking. - Good Suspension Setup:
The Harrier EV handles Indian roads well. Bumps and potholes are managed easily. Even on highways, the car stays stable. - Regen Braking Feature:
This helps recharge the battery when slowing down and also reduces use of regular brakes.
Cons (What Could Be Better)
- Weight Feels Higher:
Due to the battery, the car feels heavier during quick turns. You notice the extra weight especially at sharp corners. - Charging Infrastructure Still Limited:
Fast charging is improving in India, but still not available everywhere. For long trips, you need to plan stops carefully. - Rear Visibility is Slightly Low:
Due to the design, the rear window is a bit small, and you may rely more on the camera. - Price May Be on Higher Side:
With an expected price of ₹28 lakh+, it might be expensive for many buyers compared to petrol or diesel SUVs.
Battery Performance & Range Test
The claimed range of Tata Harrier EV is up to 622 km on a single charge. But in our real-world test, here is what we found:
- City Drive Range: 550–580 km
- Highway Drive Range: 480–500 km
- Mixed Conditions: Around 520–540 km
If you drive calmly in Eco mode, you can easily cross 550 km. Using AC, fast acceleration, and Sport mode lowers the range.
Charging time (estimated):
- Fast Charger (50kW) – 10% to 80% in 60 mins
- Home Charger (7.2kW) – 100% in 8-9 hours
Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?
The Tata Harrier EV is a bold and modern electric SUV with a strong road presence, powerful drive, long range, and rich features. It is perfect for those who want to go electric without losing the feel of a proper SUV.
